DESIGN FEATURES

CHASSIS

Built at two separate units, fork assembly and power unit chassis. Forks are formed of steel plate boxed at heel for rigidity. The power unit chassis carries the drive unit turntable bearing on heavy steel plate brackets. A leaf spring stabilizer with renewable antiabrasion buttons keeps the truck stable when traveling over uneven ground.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The control unit is located at the base of the control handle and consists of heavy duty contractors and interlock - mechanical which energies solenoids. These in turn switch resistance in or out of the armature circuit. to reduce or increase speeds.
Soft start and overload protection incorporated in controls provides easy smoother and trouble free operation.

CONTROLS

The control handle is spring loaded to the vertical position and in the position a mechanical parking brake immobilizes the truck. Push buttons in the handle head control the speed shich varies with intensity of pressure. Forward and reverse travel directions are effected by pressure. Forward and reverse travel directions are effected by pressing the appropriate button. Lift of the forks is operated by a push button. Forks are lower ed by a screw controlled hydraulic valve.

LIFE SYSTEM

The lift cylinder raises the fork unit and a connecting linkage operate he load wheel link in a co-ordinated movement which keeps the fork level.

Braking

A pair or lined shoes act on a drum mounted on the drive motor shaft. They are actuated by a cam at the base of the control handle and the brake is 'on' when the handle is vertical or horizontal, lever also operates a micro switch which disconnects power from traction when brake is applied.
Easily maintained ahain transmission heavy duty electric control gear and drive motor.
Takes over horizontal transport and leaves fork trucks and reach trucks free for stacking duties.

DRIVE UNIT AND TRANSMISSION

A Series wound drive motor is mounted directly above the drive wheel in a steel casting drive to the wheel is transmitted by a two stage chain primary and a triplex roller chain is secondary . The entire unit swivels in heavy duty ball and roller bearings. Connection between motor and battery is made by a spiral cable which flexes with the rotation of the drive unit.

BATTERY

Computer 1015 & Commuter 2015/274 volt battery of 78 AH at 5 hour rate made up of four section and positioned on either side of the power unit.
Commuter 1115/1120 & Commuter 2115 2120. A single unit battery of 24 volts positioned across the forks adjacent to the power unit chassis. Batteries of capacity 110 AH, 141 AH or 162 AH at 5 hour rate are available.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

The system is powered by a pump driver by an electricmotor. A single lift cylinder acts directly onto the fork unit and this is contained within the cylindrical hydraulic reservoir, which also embodies a by-pass valve operating at full lift.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

Alternative fork lengths electric horn, Higher capacity batteries, battery discharge indicate.

Drive Mounting and Steering
Full floating drive train steers unit via steering arm mounted on 90 mm. diameter pivot tube. Entire unit is ball and roller bearing mounted for light steering effort and is fitted with upper and lower thrust bearings. Heavy coil spring ensures maximumtraction and large diameter castors support until weight.

STRUCTURAL:

(i) Unit

Unit construction chassis is an integral welded steel structure built to take severe use by distributing stresses. Heavy gauge steel plate and continuous welding is throughout chassis.

(ii) Forks

Fork construction includes a unique mast-type stucture with fully contoured scaled bearing mast rollers and adjustable put-rod lift linkages. All moving points are bushed and greasable.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
